NEWCASTLE HELICOPTERS OPERATE SYDNEY FLOATING HELIPAD

Newcastle Helicopters are behind a new heliport in Sydney Harbour, which will start operation early next month.

James Guest and Mitchell Campbell, the directors of Newcastle Helicopters, have been given the approval to operate a flat top vessel they designed.

It is the first time since the 1980s that a helicopter service will operate so close to Sydney’s CBD.

The Heliport will offer transfers from the airport as well as scenic flights and trips to neighbouring tourist regions such as the Hunter and Port Stephens.

  2. On the weather report tonight (20 Nov), Gavin mentioned that Gunnedah had had its lowest October rainfall on record at 3.4mm.
He was obviously using the Gunnedah Resource Centre as the data base but these records only go back to 1948.
Using the Gunnedah Pool records that go back to 1876/7, both 1900 and 1944 were lower with 0.0mm and 0.8mm respectively.
This station is still open and records Oct 2012 as 3.4mm (same as the Resource Centre).
