POINT DANGER HOSTS NSW’S LARGEST MARINE TRAINING SESSION

The largest search and rescue mock training session in New South Wales’ history took place on the Tweed today.
More than 120 police from both states, volunteer marine rescue and the Maritime Safety Authority came together to enhance their skills.
Mannequins and other objects were dropped in the water by helicopters as ten boats searched for them.
“Today is about taking one of the best marine search and rescue systems in the world and making it better.”
The New South Wales police vessel “Nemesis” was also involved in the training session – just a few weeks back it performed a rescue 300 nautical miles offshore.
