Police are hunting a masked bandit responsible for a terrifying armed hold-up at the Jesmond Hotel overnight.
Staff were locking up, when the man stormed in and threatened a female employee with a screw-driver and crow-bar.
He demanded the woman take him to the office, where he stole cash, the woman’s mobile phone and her wallet, before fleeing the premises.
The man is described as being of slim build and Aboriginal appearance… He was wearing green tracksuit pants and a black hooded jumper.
