Liesl Tesch and Skud 18 partner Dan Fitzgibbon have been named Team of the Year, alongside the Australian wheelchair rugby team, at the Paralympian of the Year Awards in Sydney.
Tesch says she was determined to go for gold, despite the loss of her mum during the regatta.
“We’ve had a great journey and i think it just steeled us he supported me the whole way yachting Australia supported us the whole way out there at the games our coach …was unreal and we just pushed through. You’re an amazing team and congratulations.”
