UGL DENIES RUMOURED JOB CUTS IN TAREE

UGL has moved to hose down speculation about job cuts at its Taree facility.

Workers were concerned the factory may close following four voluntary redundancies offered earlier this year.

News that some labour hire contracts haven’t been renewed also fuelled speculation.

A spokeman for the company has told NBN there are no planned cuts to the fulltime workforce of almost 200 staff.

The Australian Manufacturing Workers Union has also stated it’s not concerned about job losses at the site
