WEATHER UPDATE: A COOL, WINDY WEEKEND

A stronger southerly is set to sweep across the region on Saturday 27 October.

It will become very gusty along the coast increasing seas and swell producing dangerous conditions for offshore boating and rock fishing.

Southern protected point breaks will be the only option for surfers with better conditions on the way Sunday once the new swell moves all the way up the coast and the winds ease.

Once again there’s not that much in it as far as rain is concerned.

There’ll be a burst of showers as the southerly tracks north with storm formation possible but the falls will be patchy with only small totals expected.

FEATURED WEATHER SHOT

Phil Mobbs took this at Burliegh Heads yesterday morning it was one of the best surf days in months and yes he and the camera got wet for the sake of a great sunrise shot. There is another pulse of swell on the way across the weekend behind a strengthening southerly so lets take a look.
