Greater Taree City Council last night voted to establish a community working group to improve communication about upcoming road works in Wingham.
From Monday, Lobban Road and the Bight Bridge will be closed for up to 10 weeks.
The project has met strong community opposition, with concerns the closure will negatively impact the town and residents living on the Tinonee side of the bridge.
Mayor Paul Hogan and councillors David Keegan and Robyn Jenkins will join three community representatives in the group.
