A man falsely claiming to be a police officer tied up and robbed a shop assistant at a Maitland electrical store this morning.
Dressed in a suit, the offender entered the Dick Smith’s store on High Street at about 8.30.
He spoke with a female employee before producing a knife and stealing cash.
The man, described as having olive skin and being aged in his late 20s or early 30s, bound the woman’s hands and feet before fleeing.
