WEATHER UPDATE – SOME MUCH NEEDED RAIN

On Thursday a pre frontal trough is going to deliver some much needed rain.

Cloud will increase and showers will build to rain as a large band tracks towards North East New South Wales and South East QLD during the afternoon with storms likely. The system will move through quickly so most areas wont receive large totals as far as rain is concerned.
It is going to be much cooler inland so most locations will max out in the teens. It will also be cooler across the Hunter with the risk of storms. There will be the chance of snow above 1500m due to lots of cold air in the upper atmosphere.
The trough will move through quickly clearing in the north for Friday.
An east coast low will form and this will greatly affect the Central Coast and Hunter on Friday with strong winds and rain showers, heavy at times. Once the low moves out over the Tasman a large dangerous swell will develop.
Conditions will calm quickly making for a fine weekend. A few showers will be possible in the far north on Sunday for the Northern Rivers and SE QLD on Sunday.

WEDNESDAY WEATHER SHOT

Phil Mobbs took this at Kurrawa Beach. The coast has enjoyed a couple of great days but the cloud will be moving back into tomorrow as a change moves through.
