Breaking into the fashion industry can be a tough gig but emerging local designers like Melina Hollway have been given a big break.
A new store at Pacific Fair has opened exclusively for local fashionistas to sell their labels, and learn about the retail industry.
“I really want to learn, how the retail works and hopefully in future I can get a shop.”
The 15 local designers will take turns in running the store, which has everything from evening wear to sleep-wear – and custom swimwear technology.
“You can choose your colour binding colour and once that happens its custom made and shipped out to you in your own little chammy cannister.”
And organisers say there’s still room for a couple more designers.
