LISMORE COUNCIL CONDEMNS LEP INTERFERENCE

Lismore will follow in the footsteps of Ballina council, by writing to the State Government condemning the removal of environmental protection zones from its Local Environment Plan.

Currently the zonings in five North Coast council plans are up for review.

“It flies in the face of what this state government has said which was local decisions made at a local level and this is just taking away that.”

“Council has spent years, tens of thousands of dollars through the department of planning and countless hours of council staff in developing these environmental zones.”
