A 4-year-old girl and a 55-year-old woman are missing following a boating accident on the Gwydir River, 30km west of Copeton Dam this morning.
Seven people were on board at the time, with five successfully making it to shore.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter, local police, paramedics and SES volunteers are on the scene conducting an air and land search.
Poor water conditions have prevented some sections of the river from being searched, and police divers from Sydney are on their way to join the search.
