BROTHERS FACE SENTENCING OVER NEWCASTLE DRUG SYNDICATE

Two brothers of a New South Wales MP will today be sentenced for running a drug ring in Newcastle.

The NSW District Court heard the pair sold commercial amounts of cannabis and methamphetamine from their Newcastle apartment in 2010.

Joshua and Kurt Toole are the younger brothers of Bathurst Nationals MP Paul Toole.

Police arrested 28-year-old Joshua Toole in September 2010 after police intercepted a package of drugs sent to him.

Kurt Toole was arrested at the same time in their unit.

Earlier this year the pair admitted to their role in the syndicate at Newcastle Local Court.
