Father Thomas Brennan, a retired catholic priest and former principal of a high school at Adamstown, has been charged over child sex offences during the late 1970s and 80s.

The 74-year-old attended Charlestown Police station this morning where he was also charged with failing to report the sexual abuse of a child by another priest at a highschool in 1978.

He was also charged with the sexual assault of an eight year old boy at a church in Waratah in 1984 and 1985.

He was granted bail to appear in Newcastle Local Court on Tuesday 25th September.

    1. St Pius WAS an all boys school back then.

    2. Brennan (and his mate) molested BOYS…I don’t know many BOYS named AMANDA.

The only lies here are clearly those being told by you…

  3. He has destroyed families and broken hearts. It may seem unreal and not want to be believed but the police don’t charge without solid evidence to try and run a case.. He was guilty to covering up and if he was innocent why cover up a act that is wrong and destroyed so many.. Maybe his defence will be he can’t recall., I know him first hand and his not the role model he first appears to be.. I too had one on one contact but lets not forget victims are always the one that is struggling most… Let this be found in a court.
