ARMIDALE HOSPITAL AUXILIARY RECOGNISED

Volunteers from the Armidale Hospital Auxiliary were all smiles today, as their much loved Kiosk opened for business, after a revamp worth almost $25,000.

“Without this grant we would not have been able to upgrade our kiosk which is in was in much need of refurbishment,” Armidale Hospital Auxiliary President Judith Maguire said.

A new microwave, coffee maker and the all important cash register were among the major additions.

The organisation was awarded the money for the makeover by The Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation, in recognition of their work.

“We saw that the auxiliary had been around since 1665 we saw that they had had already raised over a million dollars for projects for the Armidale hospital,” Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation Chair Barry Lewis said.
