WEATHER UPDATE: WINTER HEAT
21 August 2012
The mercury is on the rise thanks to a significant NW wind building over the coming days tapping into a large amount of warm to hot air that has built up across the interior.
Amazingly we’ll see above average temperatures despite a layer of mid to high cloud which will try to produce some light patchy rain on Wednesday.
On Thursday everything will come together. The warm NW winds, cloud increasing further and a cold front.
This is likely to trigger a burst of thunderstorms particularly in the NW across the Slopes and Tablelands.
The Greater Hunter could also see some of this storm activity with a rain band sweeping through producing some welcome inland rain.
The good news is the whole system will move through making way for clear and sunny weekend which will be a bit cooler.
