Maitland’s Waratah Basketball season is back on track – it easily accounted for Parramatta on the weekend.
No such luck for the Hunters’ women, but the men easily overcame the Sharks.
Playing without two of their big names, the Hunters got off to a flying start thanks to Nathan Wilson.
Matt McGovern was the home side’s MVP, finishing four assists short of a triple double.
Meanwhile the North Stars have clinched their conference title with five games left in the regular season.
They overcame a determined Sydney Ice Dogs at Warners Bay, in a game with plenty of spite.
Robbie Lawrance was one of three Newcastle players to add his name to the scoresheet.
