STONER SAYS NO FIRE STATION SET TO CLOSE

New South Wales Deputy Premier, Andrew Stoner, has denied speculation that the Bowraville and Urunga fire stations are set to close.

The Opposition claims the Bowraville station will be axed as part of a $70-million O’Farrell Government cost cutting measure.

The claim has angered Bowraville residents who fear their historic town is at risk.

But this afternoon the Member for Oxley said no fire stations will be closed to cut costs.

  1. Simple maths shows that the cuts to emergency services demanded by your local Coalition MP cannot be achieved without closing fire stations, putting police back behind desks and cutting back on ambulances. People are already dying and your local MP is lying.
Your local fire station will be closing temporarily then maybe permanently to meet your local MP’s budget cuts.
Your local police station will have less cops out on the streets because your local MP’s budget cuts cost their admin jobs.
You may not even have a local ambulance station now and that’s set to get worse in order to achieve the job losses demanded by your local Coalition MP’s support for massive budget cuts.
