28 YEARS FOR FRENZIED CENTRAL COAST MURDER

A man has been sentenced to 28 years in prison for the frenzied murder of a man at a Central Coast caravan park almost two years ago.

37-year-old Kelvin Willmott was sentenced in the New South Wales Supreme Court for the murder of 35-year-old Shane Curphey who was stabbed 105 times after an argument at Canton Beach in October 2010.

Mr Curphey’s family slammed the sentence as not long enough.
“We’ve got life, and he’s got stuff all,” Ms Curphey told media
outside the court room.
“Why do we pay for these parasites to breathe our air?”
Willmott, who pleaded guilty to murder at the time was drunk and had been taking the drug ice at the time. He will be eligible for parole in 2031.
