A teenage boy was chased and assaulted in East Maitland late on Tuesday afternoon.
Just after 5pm the boy was leaving the Victoria Street train station when he heard three males calling out to him.
He ran down a laneway between Fieldsend Street and Victoria Street, where the males caught up with him.
One of the males punched the teenager before demanding he hand over his wallet and phone.
The 14-year-old told them he didn’t have a wallet and the man punched him around the head before the teen ran off.
