Manning Great Lakes Police will join other commands around the state, in using social media to fight crime.
“Project Eyewatch” uses Facebook to create modern neighbourhood watch communities.
It will allow residents to take part in crime prevention activities 24 hours a day, with access to the site available on their smart phones, computers and tablets.
Local police are being trained in the initiative this week.
