TAREE MAN CHARGED OVER ROBBERY

Manning Great Lakes detectives have charged a man over last Wednesday’s armed robbery of the Taree West Bowling Club.

Police allege four men, armed with a machete, knife and pool cues, raided the club at closing time, taking around $30,000 in cash.

Police arrested a 24-year-old at his Barton Street home in Taree earlier this week, and charged him with armed robbery.

He’s been refused bail in Taree Local Court and is due to reappear on January 10th.

Police are still looking for the three other men, but are confident of making further arrests.
