Simon Whitlock is on track to become Australia’s first world champion of 2012, after advancing to the semi finals of the Darts World Championship in London.
The man known as the Wizard of Oz suffered an early scare in the quarters, as Scotland’s Gary Anderson took out the first set.

But once again Whitlock played through the pain of a broken ankle to claim five straight sets and move into the final four.
“Double eight for Whitlock, for the wonderful win.”
Whitlock will face England’s Andy Hamilton on Monday morning Australian time for a place in the final.
