Big crowds are expected at the Bowraville races on Boxing Day for one of the Nambucca River Jockey Club’s biggest race days of the year.
The picnic atmosphere at the country track has proven to be a big drawcard for families who use the meeting as way of catching up with old friends.
Gates open at 11am with the first of a five race program starting at 1.45.
To keep people safe on the roads free buses will leave Valla Beach and Scotts Head at 11 o’clock.
The recent rain has left the track dead and too much more and it will suit the horses who like a heavy track.
Traditionally the event draws people from right across the north coast.
