The first day of the Australasian Marist cricket carnival in Lismore has ended in disappointment for Cairns.
The northerners pitted themselves against Auckland, but failed to show any sign of strength, all out for 16 runs from 11 overs.
In reply Auckland sealed victory in just two overs.
Meanwhile in the other game, Shepparton defeated fellow Victorian’s Sale.
