MICHAEL BRIDGES COMES OUT OF RETIREMENT WITH A POINT TO PROVE

A knee injury might have forced him into retirement in April, but Michael Bridges says he’s fitter than when he first arrived in Australia two years ago.
The former English Premier League star officially returned to the Jets playing roster today, and is keen to prove he’s still got plenty to offer.
“When you’ve been given another opportunity you realise how much you missed it and I’ve been flying and like a teenager again, I’ve loved it.”
Bridges is also excited about the prospect of forming a lethal combination with fellow English international, Francis Jeffers.
Coach Gary van Egmond believes Bridges will be an asset on and off the park, adding a wealth of experience to the Newcastle squad.
The former captain could be back in action as soon as this weekend.
