BYRON SHIRE HAILED TOURIST HOTSPOT

The Byron Shire has passed its tourism test with flying colours.
A recent report released by Tourism Australia has revealed 87% of visitors surveyed were happy with their experience, citing the shires beaches, cleanliness and atmosphere as the major drawcards.
“It’s just like nowhere else you get to escape away from work, you can relax and everyone’s friendly and takes you in.”
“I think i’d come back.”
While the feedback was good, council says there is still plenty of work to be done to increase the tourist appeal, including addressing parking issues and congested roads in the town’s centre.
The possibility of a CBD bypass will be discussed at a public meeting before the end of the year.
