  1. What a wonderful story. My son Brendan was in the Intestive Care Unit in the room next to and then later in the same ward as Tom in Novemeber 2009. So I have been really interested in how Tom has been progressing and have caught some of his progress on your news. Tom’s mother, Shirley is such an amazing woman and was worried about our boy as well. With nothing short of a miracle our son went home 4 weeks later and has since fully recovered from his brain injury. When we left the John Hunter, Tom’s situation did not look promising. I am convinced that Tom owes his wonderful recovery to the positive influence of his mother, the rest of his family’s support and the wonderful staff at the John Hunter. Well done to the amazing people involved in building such a wonderful home for Tom and his family. I can not believe the man who injured him is out on bail. I would love to get in touch with the family to see if there is anything I can do to help.

  2. What a news story, don’t know how you did it but you made me happy, sad and angry all at the same time. I think there should be more said about how and why this dick head that did this to Tom has been able to get out of prison so easily even after he pleaded guilty for it.
