MAN REMANDED IN CUSTODY OVER GIRLFRIEND’S ALLEGED MURDER

The man accused of murdering his partner in their Ballina home on Saturday morning has been remanded in custody.

Police allege 26-year-old Jermaine Bolt had a domestic dispute with the 30-year-old woman at their Johnson Drive address.

When officers arrived, they found her unconcious in a bedroom and performed CPR, but she died later in Lismore Base Hospital.

Police say the injuries appear consistent with blunt force trauma.

“She was suffering multiple injuries, some of those were significant in nature.”

Bolt didn’t apply for bail this morning, and will next appear in December.
