A new program will be implemented in Yamba to help reduce crime after local businesses reported a rise in break and enters in recent weeks.
The Biz Safe program will see police, council and the Chamber of Commerce work together to tackle the problem, and could include greater use of webcam technology and lighting.
The decision comes after a meeting last week with the three groups.
Increased police presence and enhanced community-based safety programs were also discussed.
