STEAM LOCOMOTIVE ROLLS ACROSS THE HUNTER

Black smoke and cinders used to fill the air when steam locomotives ruled the railways of the Hunter.

It’s now 40 years since the last regular steam services were replaced by diesel trains, but this week some of those old engines are back in action.

200 passengers climbed aboard this 32 class loco this morning, for a trip down memory lane to Singleton.

The engine was built back in the 1890s and is now operated by the Lachlan Valley Railway Museum near Lithgow.

Mr Kav is a Celeb,,,Steam ruled the steel highways and always will,,,Just unfortunately it died when i was born in 72,Steam is a living Man made machine that has a set of lungs which breath,it drinks,,and also eats etc etc,,,They are something than just seeing a box on wheels with a diesel engine,,Pitty they can’t continous to run,,unfortunately people would then winge if they did as they are too used to the Electric trains of today,,,with No Noise,,,But it makes me wonder why these peple complain as I bet they liked steam as in their days of growing up,,,Just like i bet when steam died they loved it as the diesel were quicker getting off the mark and then the fumes were gone,,,Bring Back Steam,,,It Rules The Steel Highways !!!
