It was a battle of brute strength, agility and technique at the Australian Strongest Man competition in Lismore today.
11 time winner Derek Boyer returned to take part in what is possibly his last national competition.
I was very disapointed to see the cheating that took place to favour certain athletes. As a professional in the sport it sad to see refs favouring there chosen athletes to assist them in winning.
It does nothing to help the sport grow in this country.
Very disapointed.

I saw some very poor decisions from the ref
especially on the dealift and log
I did not know you could use your belt to rest the log, this seems like an unfair advantage to me
I was down at the festival all weekend in the rain and i enjoyed watching the strongman action however i must agree with CA and say that despite not knowing the sport there definately looked like there was some favouritism towards the winning guy.
I wish the sun had been out.
