GIANT POTHOLES CLAIM A LIFE AND DAMAGE CARS

A motorcyclist was killed near Scone on Thursday morning.

Police say his trike hit a large pothole, forcing him off the New England Highway at Parkville and into a tree.

Giant potholes created by the wild weather have left many motorists frustrated and out of pocket, across the Upper Hunter.

  1. The statement “Giant potholes created by the wild weather” is utter rubbish!
Although the weather made the situation worse, the real cause of many potholes is poor construction! Roads such as these only have a thin layer of tarmac. They are then expected to carry the heavy weight of traffic on the roads these days!

When councils carry out “extensive” repairs such as those seen on the news tonight (shovel shovel pat pat all done) do little to help.
A few trucks or a little traffic and there’s the hole again!!!

One poor guy has lost his life due to poor road construction, other cars cost their owners hundreds of dollars to repair damage caused by these roads – someone should take a council or RTA through court in a test case to attempt some kind of justice!
