The fairer sex will be taking over the waves at Lennox Head during the Queen’s Birthday long weekend.
The 19th annual All Girls Surf Showdown will see 80 female surfers aged 10 to 50 battle it out for $4,000 in prize money.
Competition this year is expected to be extra trying, with three-foot-swell predicted.
The rough conditions mean that organisers are hoping to wrap up the main events tomorrow.
The showdown is considered a stepping stone for the female surfing superstars of tomorrow.
Past winners include Sally Fitzgibbons and reigning world champion Stephanie Gilmore.
