A burning power pole proved a challenge for firefighters near Newcastle overnight, throwing sparks into the evening sky.
Crews were called to the Stockton North boat ramp at around 10:20, where they found the pole well alight.
Ausgrid crews assisted at the scene, with local firefighters able to extinguish the burning pole.
