BRIDGE LOCATION A BIG QUESTION

The Roads and Traffic Authority says it still hasn not identified the most popular choice for the location of the second crossing of the Clarence River.

A public forum was held in Grafton on March 3, following a survey of 8000 residents on the issue.

The RTA says staff are finalising results and they will have more information on a preferred crossing option by the end of March.

The Clarence Valley Council wants a new bridge to be located downstream of the existing bridge to avoid traffic congestion in the city centre.

Another public meeting will be held at Grafton’s Community Centre on March 16.
