The journalist stated “zero carbon footprint” then stated “half an hour to charge the battery”. These two are contradicting !!!!
Charging a battery takes power and a battery itself has a carbon footprint !!
I think these boats are a fantastic idea. Finally we have a product on the Gold Coast thats unique and good for our environment. Good on you Channel 9 for broadcasting such an amazing story.

Having had the pleasure of a midday cruise on one of these boats I can vouch that they will be very popular here on the Gold Coast. They really are as quiet as they say! Can’t wait to experience it again with the guys from my office on our next corporate day! I’m glad someone has finally taken the initiative to bring these environmentally friendly boats to our waterways.
My family and I have been lucky enough to experience a trial run on one of these boats and I must say it must have been one of the most enjoyable afternoons I have had out on the water. They are serenely quiet and I really enjoyed the fact that there was no awful diesel smell following us around!! I also really like the fact that the boats are “zero emissions” – so much better for our beautiful Gold Coast waterways!! Well done Kerr family on a fantastic product!!!
We have enjoyed many moments on a Duffy….its quiet, relaxing, economical and environmentally friendly. Doesnt get much better than that for a local adventure, cocktail party or celebration of almost any sort. Well done Kerr Family!! Wow, at last you can go boating with out feeling sick because of the fuel fumes.
I enjoy boating but there are times when it is not enjoyable because of the fumes etc so this is a godsend, yahoo and it saves the enviroment.
The quiteness would be nearly like the tranquility of sailing I would think.
Great concept and I suggest people should try these out, I am sure you would love them.
I think we have two winners here the people enjoying the water in a quiet relaxing enviroment, and the big winners are those people that live on the water and can share paradise without the noise of diesel motors. For those who live on the water & listen to loud engines and people talking over them, this is sensational news to hit the Gold Coast, anything thats makes the ocean more enjoyable for all has my vote. very innovative good luck, look forward to taking one out myself.
