COFFS COAST WORKERS OUT OF POCKET

The State MP for Coffs Harbour says dozens of contractors in his electorate have been left out of pocket, because the state government failed in its duties.

Andrew Fraser wants the government to explain why proper checks weren’t done on Perle Propriety Limited.

It was awarded a contract to build a Housing New South Wales development in Coffs Harbour, as part of the Federal Government’s stimulus package.

The company recently went into voluntary administration, and Mr Fraser says contractors have told him they’re owed up to $35,000.

A meeting of creditors will be held in Sydney on Friday.
