TWO MEN CHARGED OVER BANK & CHURCH ROBBERY

Two men have been charged with stealing from the Westpac Bank at Lismore last night.

Police allege the 26 and 35-year-olds broke in around nine o’clock, and stole two laptops and two charity donation tins.

“No money from the actual bank was stolen, the offenders stole about $89 worth of charity money that was destined for flood appeal victims and a local charity.”

Police found the men walking across Fawcett bridge about an hour later.

They’ve also been charged in relation to the theft of around $16,000 worth of music equipment from the Centre Church on Molesworth Street last Sunday.

Both men have been refused bail at Lismore Local Court.
