Lake Macquarie is set to get a top class sporting facility, which it’s hoped could attract AFL teams to the city for pre-season matches.
Key stakeholders met at Warners Bay’s Feighan Oval on Tuesday to discuss how best to use a $200,000 state government grant.
The oval, which is already well used for local sport, will be upgraded in stages.
Proposed works include establishing two full-sized football fields, cricket facilities and other amenities.
