The cold weather and the lack of swell in the lead up to Christmas couldn’t stop 45 Santa’s helpers from taking to the water in Newcastle, to raise money for victims of October’s Indonesian tsunami.
Despite being unable to catch a wave, they took the opportunity to remember those lost, before singing a few Christmas carols.
In all, they raised $2,500 for the charity, Surf Aid.
