TEENAGE BLOGGER BRINGS TOP AUSSIE BAND TO BALLINA
For three months aspiring music journo and SCU student Max Quinn blogged about the Northern Rivers music scene.
“I got to go to gigs from the Byron, Ballina, Lismore area as well as interviewing people from aboard and some of my favourite bands which was just extradordinary.”
Now the 19-year-old’s hard work has paid off – ARIA-award winning band Birds of Tokyo are playing a free gig tomorrow night at Ballina Seagulls leagues club.
Best of all, Max gets to meet and interview them backstage beforehand.
“I’ve just had a guy from Reverb magazine which is big street press in New South Wales contact me and ask me to write a review for the gig and if that goes well then I’ll get more work working for them.”
