PEAK OIL REACHED?

Forecasts for global oil production will be announced in Paris shortly and one man who is eagerly anticipating the news is Kjell Aleklett.

The Swedish professor predicts we’ll be producing 75 million barrels of oil globally by 2030, but expects the official forecasts to be somewhere around the 90 million mark.

Mr Aleklett, who’s in Newcastle as part of a national tour, also believes we reached peak oil in 2008.

“You must look at how will we personal transports be in the future because you will not have enough gasoline and diesel to uel cars 20 years from now.”
