NORTHS TAKE HOCKEY TITLE

Norths has won the Men’s Premier League Hockey title, beating old rivals Souths 4 – 1 in today’s decider.

Three first half goals setting up victory.

Everyone had a win on grand final day with the officially opening of the Third Turf field at the International standard centre, named after club stalwart Bob Furnance.

His son John then lead out Souths, looking for his 9th title in 14 attempts but it was Jordon Willott who had Norths away to a flyer.

The Young Aussie star had a second mid-way through the half.. while Tristan Hunt scored from a penalty stroke all before half-time.

A fourth just after the break sealing a comfortable win.

  1. What about the Newcastle Womens Grand Final. It was a much tighter more exciting game. As usual no coverage of womens sport. Tigers womens teams filled 4 of the 6 grade matches. It was Tigers 1st victory in their 10th year in the Premier League competition. Surely there was some interest in this!!!
