Police are investigating how a long line fishing trawler ended up on Coffs Harbour’s Park Beach.
Five crew members were on board the 19-metre Menrae, which was washed ashore at about 1am, during moderate north-westerly winds.
The salvage effort began at first light, and featured local fishermen, Water Police and lifeguards.
Two other trawlers provided large tow lines, which were then hooked up to the stranded vessel.
Despite today’s tricky conditions, the trawlers were able to turn the Menrae around and pull her off the sand in a matter of minutes.
