Newcastle galloper Lucia Valentina will return to Australia on Monday, following her fifth-placed finish in the Hong Kong Gold Cup.
The five-year-old will spend two weeks in quarantine in Victoria, before returning to the Hunter.
Trainer Kris Lees has big plans for the mare, including the $4-million Group One Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Randwick in April, and the Group One Doomben Cup in May.
