  1. Newcastle CBD is dead as a shopping destination if DJs goes. Who’s going to come in and shop at Sportsgirl, Sussan or Sanity when you can do that at proper shopping centres in the suburbs?

  2. I cannot believe that these people are wanting precious funding of 650 million for cutting the rail line when opur hospitals are in a mess where Ambulance drivers have got to wait with patients for 6 hours after rushing them to Hospital, how Irresponsible is FOC. Spend the money on our hospitals so that when you are rushed to hospital in an ambulance you are admitted ASAP and the ambulance crew is released to DO THEIR JOBS. NBN should be saying the same thing Mr Lavering..SPEND THE 650 MILLION ON OUR HOSPITALS not on cutting the rail line

  3. @ What a joke, if you want $650 mil, maybe we can find in other areas as well, why just target the rail line? How about finding $650 mil in reducing school funding, cuts to new road infrastructure, cuts to pensioner travel or increasing car registrations …. the list is endless.

Oh, I get it, you are pushing a certain barrow & who could argue about putting the money saved from keeping the rail line to investing in health … good argument (except perhaps next time include something about babies as well, just to help the argument … everyone loves babies)
