A 40-year-old man is in a critical but stable condition in Coffs Harbour Hospital following a stabbing incident overnight.
Police found the man with a stab wound to his stomach when they were called to a block of units in Boultwood Street at around midnight.
A 40-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to the Coffs Habour Police Station for questioning.
Specialist forensic officers seized a number of items for testing.
Police have urged anyone with information to come forward.
