MAN CRITICALLY INJURED IN NORTH COAST CRASH

A 28-year-old Victorian man has been airlifted to Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition, after an early morning crash at Ulmarra, north of Grafton.

Police believe a B-double travelling north crossed to the wrong side of the Pacific Highway, before colliding head-on with the man’s Nissan Navara.

Emergency services released the man from the tangled wreckage.

He was taken to Coffs Harbour Hospital, before being transferred to the John Hunter.

The 51-year-old truck driver wasn’t injured, and has been questioned by police.
