CHARITY BALL FOR ADELAIDE SINKING AND WESTPAC CHOPPER

Today marks four months until the former HMAS Adelaide is sunk off Avoca Beach.

Now there are plans to use the occasion as a fundraiser for both the upkeep of the wreck, and one of the country’s essential services.

  1. Congratulations to all concerned in Terrigal, regarding plans to “celebrate” the scuttling of our ship HMAS ADELAIDE.

This is a remarkable Navy ship, with remarkable Australians who have served aboard since commissioning in 1980.

It was a bitter/sweet moment being present at her de-commissioning in W.A. and we South Australians would have loved this ship to have been permanently moored at Port Adelaide. However, I am sure the people of the Central Coast of NSW will look after her with pride and honour.

It is marvellous to learn that so much is being done by the Community to mark the scuttling of HMAS ADELAIDE such a special occasion. THANK YOU.
